How does it estimate paint coverage areas from video?
The Smart Scanner uses visible reference objects - door dimensions (2.1m high × 0.76m wide), ceiling height (2.4m standard UK), and room footprint - to estimate wall and ceiling areas in m². It separates each surface (walls, ceiling, woodwork) into distinct line items so you can price them individually.
Does it flag external work that needs scaffolding?
Yes. Any exterior painting work above ground-floor level is automatically flagged with a note indicating a scaffold allowance should be considered. The system adds this as an informational item so you can add a scaffold cost or note to the client.
Does it include primer and undercoat separately?
The system applies trade logic to identify when primer or undercoat is required - new plaster, bare timber, and significant colour changes typically need priming. These are included as separate line items when the conditions are identified.
Can it quote internal and external work from the same visit?
Yes. A single Smart Scan processes all media together. If you film both the interior rooms and exterior elevations, or upload photos of each area, in the same session, all painting work is included in one draft quote across both areas.
