ELECTrade-Specific Quoting

Electrical Quotes Built From What You Can See

Film the consumer unit, walk the sockets, point out the lighting circuits. TradesMan Quote counts the points, matches them to UK ELEC pricing records, and builds a professional quote with all associated items included.

Point-Based Pricing, Applied Precisely

Electrical quoting is fundamentally a points exercise. TradesMan Quote's pricing database uses the same point-based framework UK electricians use: sockets per point, lights per point, consumer unit per board size. Each pricing record has LOW/AVG/HIGH benchmarks and a regional multiplier.

The Smart Scanner identifies each electrical accessory visible in your footage or photographs. Standard 86×86mm backplates are used as visual reference objects to help count points in busy consumer units or multi-socket areas where exact counts are otherwise hard to confirm from site media.

Where a count can't be confirmed visually, the item is flagged with a yellow warning and a note prompting on-site verification before you send the quote to the client.

Electrical FAQ

Can it count sockets and light points from a video?

Yes. The Smart Scanner identifies individual electrical accessories visible in footage - single and double sockets, light switches, ceiling roses, pendants, downlights, and consumer unit positions. It uses the 86×86mm standard backplate size as a reference to estimate counts from visible accessories.

Does it handle consumer unit (fuse board) replacements?

Yes. Consumer unit replacements are a distinct category in the pricing database with their own pricing records covering single and three-phase boards of different sizes. Labelling, testing, and certification are tracked as associated items.

Can it quote first and second fix electrical work separately?

Yes. The Smart Scanner distinguishes between first fix (wiring runs, back boxes, cabling in new builds or extensions) and second fix (fitting accessories, pendants, switches) when both are visible or described. These are quoted as separate line items in logical sequence.

Does it include testing and certification in the quote?

Testing and certification are recognised as associated items for certain types of electrical work. If a consumer unit replacement or full rewire is identified, the system can include allowances for testing, inspection, and NICEIC or NAPIT certification as separate line items.
