The Smart Scanner uses brick course height (75mm) as a reference unit visible in any brickwork footage. By counting courses and combining with visual width estimates against door and window openings, it calculates m² for face brickwork and repointing areas.
Does it add skip hire for repointing jobs?
Yes. For repointing areas above 10m², a skip hire or waste disposal line is automatically added. Below this threshold, bagged waste removal is typically adequate and is noted as an option rather than a definite line item.
Can it quote mixed masonry jobs - brick and blockwork together?
Yes. The Smart Scanner identifies both face brickwork and structural blockwork when visible. These are quoted as separate categories with their own pricing records.
Can it handle extension foundations and substructure work?
Foundation and substructure work is supported in the pricing database. This is typically best described in the scope-of-works text field with dimensions and specification, supplemented with groundworks footage or site photographs.
